Fair

Located in the city center, with its Green landscapes, tea gardens, zoo, cultural and artistic events, Kulturpark is one the most popular places for Izmir people. The largest fairground of Turkey , Izmir International Fair, was founded on an area of 421,000 m² , at 1932. The Fair, in which the newest Technologies were introduced, is one of the most important organizations of the country with its cultural, artisctic and touristic help to the economics of Turkey .

In spite of specialist's fairs taking over the general trade fairs form the beginning of 90's, Izmir International succeeded to keep its own custom structure by renovating itself. 

Kemeraltı

The Kemeraltı Bazaar Place at Konak, is the traditional shopping heart of Izmir . From dresses and finery to gifts and food, anything can be found there. This is the display booth, especially for the textiles of Aegean region; with many important textile factories' sale centers, the place seems like a textile fair… 

Kordon

Kordon, where people take long promenades and covering the coast of the city from Konak Square to Alsancak, is one of the symbolistic places of the city. Especially Evening coach rides provide unforgettable moments to the visitors. 

Bird Paradise

The Bird Paradise, which is under the protection of General Directorate of Forests, is in the Çamalti Tuzla area of Cigli, covering a land of 19,760 acres . This paradise where 205 different species of birds, including the endangered crested pelicans, pink winged flamingos, kingfishers -the symbol of Universiade 2005- and grey and black storks are living in their natural environments is one of the most important wetlands of the country and unique in many aspects by comparison of its equals all over the World. This area is a real heaven for nature-lovers and photography enthusiasts. The Tuzla (which means ‘saltpan') located in that area, meets a large part of the country's need of salt, with its 600,000 tons per year capacity. Declared as historical and protected area in 1982, the paradise is on the immigration road of immigrant birds and 50,000 of them visit the place each year. Visitor centers, observation towers are in the facilities and goggles and bikes are provided.
